Freebridge Community Housing insures the homes that you live in.

This is the bricks, ceilings, roofs and other materials that form a home.

Tenants, leaseholders and shared owners are responsible for obtaining contents insurance.

This would provide insurance cover for things like your electrical appliances (TVs and fridges, for example), clothing and other possessions.

If required, Freebridge will make an insurance claim for tenanted homes (if there has been a fire, for example).

However, if you are a leaseholder or shared owner you will need to go through this process yourself. Information to help you to do this is provided below.

You should also be aware that you must take all reasonable steps to minimise loss or damage to all insured property including keeping the buildings in a good condition and state of repair.

Period of insurance: 3 October 2024 to 2 October 2025

Policy excess: £100 and £350 for Escape of Water and £1,000 for subsidence

All claims should be reported as soon as possible, with full details to be provided within 30 days of the claim (seven days in respect of riot or malicious damage) including supporting evidence in writing.

The Police must be notified as soon as possible in the event of theft or malicious damage.
